10 tips to learn a new language.

Very often my students ask me for tips or ways to get better when learning a language. It’s important to take into consideration that no one is the same and we all have different learning paths. However, here are 10 tips I have used when learning a new language and now I have passed them to my students to help them too:

  1. Set realistic and achievable goals: Define what you want to achieve and work on small daily goals to reach them.

  2. Total immersion: Try to immerse yourself in the language as much as possible. Listen to music, watch movies, read books, etc. in the language you are learning.

  3. Practice daily: Dedicate at least 15 minutes daily to practice the language. Constant practice is key to learning.

  4. Speak out loud: Speak out loud and practice pronunciation. You can do this while walking, cooking, or any daily activity.

  5. Use educational resources: Use educational resources such as apps, websites, podcasts, online courses, etc.

  6. Find a conversation partner: Look for someone with whom you can practice the language, whether it's a friend, teacher, or exchange partner.

  7. Make vocabulary flashcards: Create flashcards with words in the language you are learning and review them daily.

  8. Be consistent: Learning a language takes time and effort, so be consistent and don't give up.

  9. Make learning a habit: Establish a daily schedule for learning and make it a habit.

  10. Travel and practice the language: If possible, travel to a country where the language you are learning is spoken and practice the language in real-life situations.

    Hope this helps!
